On Friday 27th September, we made a road trip to our class Dungeness. Unfortunately, when we arrived it was raining but it didn’t stop us having fun!
First, we met Owen from the lifeboat station who told us all about the history of Dungeness and even let us see the steam train ready to depart. He also let us release Yellow Underwing moths.
After that, we visited the Old Lighthouse where we climbed the 169 steps. It was still raining so we got back on the coach to sketch the lighthouse until lunchtime. We were lucky to eat our lunch in the End of Line cafe, so no soggy sandwiches!.
Thankfully, after lunch the rain eased off and we were able to go for a walk along the boardwalk and search for holey stones and feathers on the beach. Despite the rain we had a fantastic day exploring Dungeness.
