During our road trip to Sandwich, we took a walk through the town noticing different physical and man-made features.
We then went to the Guildhall Museum where we learned about rope-making and how Sandwich used to have large ropes throughout the town when it was a port. Students were able to try making their own rope out of string!
Afterwards, they made their own stained-glass windows using sharpies. We took a break and had lunch on a grassy field.
In the afternoon, the students were split into two groups touring the courthouse and the museum. Students took turns performing a mock trial and deciding who was guilty or innocent.
In the museum, we learned about the cinque-ports and were very interested in a mummified rat!
