Last month all the children were set the challenge of reading more in June than they had in May and they rose to the challenge impressively!
The school read 2,498,334 words (only just less than the 2,508,373 in May) across 1,377 books- 300 more than read in May!
For the second month in succession the children achieved the school’s crucial challenge of reading for an average of 15 minutes per day- with the average amount of reading per pupil reaching 17 minutes per day!
Hopefully this progress will continue into July!
Spending time reading is the most important thing any child can do to improve their learning, so please listen to your children read as much as possible and encourage them to read at home so they can complete their quizzes in school.
