The children had a fantastic day in Chilham learning about the history. They were able to visually see the differences between the small village and their home of Folkestone.
John spoke to the children all about the village and what they might notice as we walked around before showing them all how the organ worked, and Mrs Lewis even had a go herself. That was fantastic!
We took a short walk to the village primary school, where they allowed us to have a look around their playground and grass area. Being a 1/2 form entry school the children noticed instantly that it was much smaller than our school – “This school is so small!”.
On the way back to the coach we had a look at Chilham Castle, which was the last stop of the treasure hunt the children were completing as we walked around the village.
